We are delighted to celebrate our wedding with you on 8 August 2026 at SpreeSpeicher Berlin, one of the city’s most unique waterfront venues.
Located directly on the River Spree between Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Treptow, SpreeSpeicher combines Berlin’s industrial heritage with spectacular river views, vibrant city life and some of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks.
If you arrive a little earlier or stay a bit longer, we encourage you to explore this fascinating corner of Berlin.
The Neighborhood
SpreeSpeicher is located in one of Berlin’s most vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods. This is where Berlin’s industrial waterfront meets creative culture, where history meets modern city life, and where iconic landmarks sit alongside cozy cafés, rooftop bars, riverside restaurants and lively nightlife.
The area is known for its unique blend of historical significance, urban creativity and relaxed waterfront atmosphere. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, food, nightlife, sports or simply enjoying a walk along the river, you'll find plenty to discover within walking distance of the venue.
For many Berliners, Friedrichshain is one of the city’s most exciting districts—full of energy, character and countless opportunities to experience Berlin like a local.
A Little History
- The venue is located in Berlin’s historic Osthafen (Eastern Harbour) district, which was once one of the city’s most important industrial ports.
- During the Cold War, the nearby River Spree formed part of the border between East and West Berlin.
- The East Side Gallery preserves a section of the Berlin Wall and serves as one of the world’s largest open-air galleries.
- The Molecule Man was deliberately placed near the former East-West divide and symbolizes people coming together after division.

Discover the Neighborhood
East Side Gallery
Just a few minutes from the venue lies the world-famous East Side Gallery – the longest remaining open-air section of the Berlin Wall. Today it features over 100 murals by artists from around the world and stands as a powerful symbol of freedom, creativity and reunification.
One of the most photographed artworks is the famous mural “The Kiss”, depicting Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and East German leader Erich Honecker.
Molecule Man
Rising 30 metres from the River Spree, the iconic Molecule Man sculpture is one of Berlin’s most recognizable landmarks. Created by American artist Jonathan Borofsky, the three giant figures symbolize people coming together and mark the meeting point of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Treptow. The artwork was installed in 1999 and has become one of Berlin’s most distinctive riverside landmarks.
Oberbaum Bridge
One of Berlin’s most beautiful landmarks, the Oberbaumbrücke once served as a border crossing between East and West Berlin. Today it connects Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg and offers stunning views over the river and the city skyline.
Uber Arena
Just around the corner from the venue is the Uber Arena, one of Germany’s premier sports and entertainment venues. It is home to the Eisbären Berlin, Germany’s most successful ice hockey club, and regularly hosts top-level handball matches, international concerts and major entertainment events.
The surrounding Uber Platz has become one of Berlin’s most vibrant modern entertainment districts with restaurants, bars and public spaces along the riverfront.
Discover Berlin from the Water
As our venue is located directly on the River Spree, experiencing Berlin from the water feels particularly fitting.
From nearby Treptower Hafen, several sightseeing boats depart for cruises through the historic and modern heart of Berlin. Along the way, you'll pass many of the city's most famous landmarks while enjoying a unique perspective of Berlin's architecture, waterways and history.
For guests who have some extra time during the wedding weekend, we can highly recommend a boat tour—it is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ways to discover the city.
Experience Berlin Like a Local
Boxhagener Platz ("Boxi")
Known affectionately by Berliners as Boxi, Boxhagener Platz is the heart of Friedrichshain. Around the square you’ll find cafés, bakeries, boutiques, bars and restaurants. It is one of the city's most beloved neighborhoods and a perfect place to experience everyday Berlin life.
Simon-Dach-Straße
Just a few steps from Boxi, Simon-Dach-Straße is one of Berlin’s best-known nightlife streets. Lined with countless restaurants, cocktail bars, beer gardens and cafés, it is the perfect destination for a relaxed evening with friends.
